Miles for Mamas 2024 – run or walk to raise money for Amma

It’s a new year and race season is coming up fast!
Last year we had an amazing time at the Supernova Run in Falkirk, and the Kiltwalk all the way from Glasgow Green to Balloch – and we’re getting ready to do it all again! Will you join us to walk and run #milesformamas and raise money for our services, to ensure that pregnant people in Glasgow don’t have to give birth alone? We have two amazing events coming up this spring, which will be wonderful opportunities to have fun, get fit, and support Amma all at the same time.

The Supernova Run at The Kelpies

What is the Supernova Run?
The Supernova Run is a stunning 5k route around the Kelpies in Falkirk Helix Park. Runners will make their way around the Kelpies, and be immersed in an enchanting journey of light and sound. Participants will be given glow sticks and headlamps to light up the route.

When and where is it?
The event is running on Friday 15th and 16th March, but Team Amma will be taking part on Friday 15th. If you’d like to join us, sign up for the Friday! The event starts at 8:00pm.

The run takes place at The Helix (Home of The Kelpies), Falkirk, Grangemouth FK2 7ZT.

Who can take part?
This accessible event is suitable for the entire family. Kids under 16 must be supervised. Participants are welcome to walk, run, scoot, or roll — the focus is on having fun, not how quickly you complete the course!

What is the minimum fundraising requirement?
We have a limited number of free charity places, but we ask that you pledge to raise a minimum of £100 to support Amma’s work.

If you’d like to join #TeamAmma, use the form below to get in contact with Abigail who will set you up with a funded entry.

This form is currently closed for submissions.

You can also sign up on your own via the Supernova Run website – to do so, click below.

Glasgow Kiltwalk

Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event with over 120,000 people taking part since 2016. The Glasgow event takes place between Glasgow, Clydebank and Loch Lomond, with three distances to choose from – a Kiltwalk to suit everybody!

  • The Wee Wander – a lovely short 3-mile walk around the shores of Loch Lomond, perfect for the whole family  (avg 1.5hrs)
  • The Big Stroll – a 14-mile walk from Clydebank to Balloch, Loch Lomond – perfect for a team of walkers!  (avg. 5hrs)
  • The Mighty Stride – are you ready for the ultimate Kiltwalk challenge? 23 miles from Glasgow Green all the way to the finish-line in beautiful Balloch (avg. 8hrs)
For more details about each of the routes, visit the Kiltwalk website for more information.

All three Glasgow walks take place on Sunday 28th April  – and you can choose your own start time.

This is a fantastic event full of fun and entertainment along the way, and the chance to enjoy some amazing scenery as you raise essential funds for Amma Birth Companions.

If you’d like to take part, register here and you’ll be able to set up your own JustGiving page, which will send all the funds you raise directly to Amma.

Thank you so much for your support and we can’t wait to walk and run #milesformamas together with you!
