Working at Amma

Amma is a small organisation doing work that matters at a local and national level, and we try to be an employer that lives its values. We’re trauma-informed in how we work with families – and that shapes how we work with each other too.

Our policies reflect who we are

We have dedicated policies on pregnancy loss, fertility, menstrual health, perimenopause and menopause, neonatal care leave, and home working.

Several of our existing policies go well beyond the minimum – including enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave pay, 34 days’ annual leave, paid compassionate leave, and paid time off for dependant emergencies.

We want everyone at Amma to feel they can be themselves at work, and to know real support is there when they need it.

Flexible working

We offer home and hybrid working, and we’re committed to flexibility that works in practice.

 Learning and development

We invest heavily in training. Staff have access to a wide and varied programme covering everything from anti-racism to infant feeding to working with survivors of trafficking.

Support and wellbeing

For client-facing roles, we provide regular professional supervision. We know this work is emotionally demanding, and supporting people properly is an important part of working safely and sustainably.
