Share your time and experience with families
Do you enjoy spending time with young children and families? Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community? As a Group Supporter, you’ll be a welcoming presence at our weekly family events — holding babies, playing with children, and helping parents feel supported and connected.
This is a wonderful opportunity for those who have time to share, love being around children, and want to make a real difference in the lives of families facing challenges.
About the role
Outside of our one-to-one companionship support, Amma runs weekly events for parents and children, including our Amma Family peer support activities and pregnancy group. As a Group Supporter, you’ll provide helping hands to make sure these regular events run smoothly.
You might:
- Be a welcoming face at the front door, signing in parents and children
- Reimburse clients with bus fare
- Pitch in with food preparation and distribution
- Hold babies and play with older children so parents can relax, chat, and learn
- Help set up and clean up before and after groups
- Encourage new or shy participants to join in and make new friends
It’s a dynamic role in a vibrant, diverse environment where you’ll experience the joy of spending time with new parents and their babies.
